NGC2808 Globular Star Cluster

NGC 2808 is a globular cluster in the constellation Carina. The cluster currently belongs to the Milky Way, although it was likely stolen from a dwarf galaxy that collided with the Milky Way. NGC 2808 is one of the Milky Way's most massive clusters, containing more than a million stars. It is estimated to be 12.5 billion years old.

Distance to the object- 31 thousand light years; angular size in the sky is about 14’ (minutes).

Mount-Mathis MI-1000/1250; Scope- Planewave CDK24, 6100 mm aperture, 3962mm focal length; Camera- QHY600 M Pro, 0.62 arcsec/pixel.

Observatory

Telescope Live, El Sauce Observatory, Chile.

Exposure

LRGB filters, total exposure- 4 hours 10 min.
